- 33% Pinot Meunier | 33% Pinot Noir | 33% Chardonnay

- Boursault, Vallée de la Marne
- Extra Brut, 3.7 g/L dosage
- Citrus, orange blossom, toasted almonds and dried fruit
There's a lovely story behind Le Secret de Jules 2015 from Champagne Michel Laval. Jules was the family's great-great-grandfather, who started growing vines in Boursault around 1870 with just a small plot of land. More than 150 years later, his story lives on in this beautiful vintage Champagne.
Each grape brings something different to the glass. Pinot Noir gives structure, Chardonnay adds freshness, and Meunier brings a lovely roundness. The wine is fermented naturally, with 40% vinified in oak barrels for extra depth and character.
The result? A champagne with plenty of personality. Rich enough to enjoy with food, yet fresh and precise thanks to its low dosage. A bottle worth taking your time over.
Tasting notes
Expect citrus and orange blossom on the nose, with a lovely richness that gives away its vintage character. On the palate, you'll find citrus, dried fruit, toasted almonds and a generous texture, balanced by fresh citrus notes and a long, lingering finish.
This is a Champagne that really shines at the dinner table. The Laval family recommends it with sushi, but we also love the idea of pairing it with duck breast or turbot with almonds.
Why we chose it
Le Secret de Jules brings together everything we appreciate about independent growers: family history, thoughtful winemaking and a genuine connection to the land.
