Domaine François Schwach – Independent Winemakers Since 1950
Domaine François Schwach is a charming family-run estate in Hunawihr, rooted in tradition since its founding in 1950 by François Schwach . Now led by his grandson Sébastien Schwach, this third-generation domaine spans approximately 18–19 hectares of vineyards across prime Alsace terroirs—spanning Hunawihr, Ribeauvillé, and Bergheim, including parcels within four Grand Cru sites.
Situated on the unique “Ribeauvillé fracture zone,” the soils are clay-limestone, offering finesse and minerality. Their vineyard is certified organic since 2020. The domaine now manages its vineyards with minimal intervention, natural compost, cover crops, and low sulphite use in the cellar.
